Privacy Policy
Our Philosophy: We built MarkReply because we were tired of commenting systems acting as disguised ad-networks. We do not track your end-users, we do not sell data to advertisers, and we never will.
1. Introduction
MarkReply ("we", "us", or "our") provides a self-hosted and managed commenting engine. This policy explains how we handle information for both our direct customers (SaaS Tenants) and the end-users who post comments on our customers' websites.
2. Information we collect
For Managed Cloud Customers (Tenants):
- Account Data: Name, email address, and billing information (processed securely via PayPal).
- Infrastructure Data: The domain names you register to use our service.
For End-Users (Commenters on Tenant Sites):
- Provided Data: Name, optional email address, and the content of the comment itself.
- Security Data: IP addresses are temporarily logged strictly for rate-limiting, spam prevention, and abuse mitigation. We do not use this for fingerprinting or tracking.
3. How we use information
We use collected information exclusively to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the commenting engine.
- Process payments and provision your custom domain SSL certificates.
- Send administrative emails, such as moderation alerts via our Valkey queue.
- Prevent automated spam and protect our infrastructure from DDoS attacks.
4. Data Ownership & Sharing
You own your data. If you are a managed cloud customer, all comments submitted to your domain belong to you. You can export or delete them via the admin dashboard at any time.
We only share data with infrastructure providers strictly necessary to run the service (e.g., server hosts, PayPal for billing, email delivery services). We do not share data with marketing agencies or data brokers.
